Currently studying Medicine at the University of Birmingham

I studied biology for both my first and second year at Winstanley. Although Gareth was only my actual teacher for the first, that didn’t stop him from checking in and supporting my education for the second year in the slightest. For me, he turned biology from being this memorising slog to a lesson I’d actually look forward to going to, taking an interest in us as people on top of being a fantastic teacher. He was always there using his own time to offer any help if you needed and made sure we understood rather than just reading out of the book, using different analogies to explain things more clearly.

I’m currently at the University of Birmingham studying medicine just coming out of first year and I genuinely don’t know if I’d be here without his support, he is easily one of the best teachers I have ever had.
