Currently studying Medicine at the University of Liverpool

I had the absolute pleasure of being in Gareth’s class for my second year of college and in such a stressful year, biology quickly became my favourite subject.

Gareth was not only so supportive during class time but also out of hours he would respond to the hundreds of emails I would send regarding the finer points of the specification, even during holidays. I am yet to find a more dedicated teacher as Gareth was always available at lunchtimes and during free periods to discuss topics we struggled on, to offer help and explain concepts from a different angle.

His enthusiasm for biology was contagious and really felt inspired to study Medicine at the University of Liverpool and to further my knowledge of biology.

I was very lucky to have such a sound base of knowledge in biology due to Gareth’s approach to teaching, which helped me navigate the first year of a difficult degree course.

In addition, Gareth also showed an interest in our development out of A level biology and I always felt very comfortable coming to talk to him about university admissions and any concerns I had about college in general.

I can confidently say that Gareth was the most committed, hardworking and friendly teacher I have ever had and if only I had him to teach me at university!
